NSW Government Radio Network (April 2011 Update 1)

As you all know the NSW Government Radio Network has gone digital! The majority of the 160~ sites are 100% P25 Digital with a few sites still having the old analog control channels alive for a month or so more, but basically the old system as we know it is finished.



The sites are setup into zones, Zone 1 (Sydney and Central Coast), Zone 2 (Western NSW and Newcastle), Zone 3 (ACT, South Coast and Southern Tablelands)

Just like the sites, the talkgroup id's are also setup into zones, 1xxxx belong to Zone 1, 2xxxx belong to Zone 2, and 3xxxx belong to Zone 3, with the exception of some agencies including NSW Fire Rescue. ACT Agencies have talkgroup id's of 4xxxx.

Agencies that use the NSW Government Radio Network that have been heard so far are,
NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Fire Rescue, NSW State Emergency Service, Ambulance Service of NSW, ChildFlight,  Corrective Services, AusGrid (Energy Australia), Integral Energy, Roads and Traffic Authority, Sydney Ferries, NSW Maritime, Juvenile Justice, Sheriff Department of NSW, Sutherland Shire Council, Railcorp, ABC News, and a few unidentified users. In the ACT, the ACT Ambulance Service, ACT Fire Brigade and ACT Rural Fire Service, ACT SES as well as ACT Parks and Conservation.

At this stage, only a few number of users are using encryption. Those include Corrective Services who are trialing it on talkgroup 10402.
